Gaofeng Mountain, located 20 kilometers north of Wenjing Town, Pengxi County, Sichuan Province, stands at 547 meters above sea level. Its beautiful peak, shaped like a phoenix perched on its cradle, earns it the nickname "Gaofeng Mountain." Once primarily Taoist, it also incorporates Confucian and Buddhist influences. Today, it serves as a authentic Taoist practice site in Longmen. It is a designated a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Site in the seventh batch.

First built in the early Tang Dynasty, continued in the late Qing Dynasty, and expanded during the Republic of China, Gaofeng Mountain is revered by many elders of the Nationalist government and a sacred temple visited by 18 provinces. Lin Sen, then President of the Nationalist government, inscribed a plaque praising it, "Doing Good is the Greatest Joy." Gaofeng Mountain is known as "the most famous mountain in northern Sichuan" and "the highest peak in central Sichuan." Due to its unique Bagua maze-like architecture, it is also known as the "Northern Sichuan Maze."
