Kinmen Jinhu - Hidden Sunset Spot: Xinhu Fishing Harbor

Surprise! Even wave breakers can become part of Kinmen's beautiful sunset memories 🌇

The neatly arranged wave breakers at "Xinhu Fishing Harbor" create a canyon-like scenery perfect for capturing stunning photos, echoing the ancient saying: 'Viewed from the side, it forms a ridge; from the front, a peak.' ⛰️

Located near the town center of "Shanwai" in Jinhu Township, Kinmen County, it’s about a 20-minute bike ride from Jincheng and 10 minutes from the airport. From the South Island Ring Road, turn onto Shigang Road, where you'll encounter a steep slope. Visitors are advised to slow down to avoid slipping. Once you pass the slope and push through the greenery, you'll be greeted by the open view of the fishing harbor.

In the evening, fishermen are tidying up their gear from the day. You can park your scooter by the seawall and take a leisurely stroll towards the prominent concrete blocks, enjoying the tranquil sea breeze.

On this day, my high school friends and I visited here before our flight in the evening. We donned our graduation stoles to capture a snapshot marking the end of our university days, gazing at the sunset and looking forward to the continuation of youth and a brighter tomorrow.

🕰️ Hours: Open 24 hours, but it’s safer to visit during daylight.
🏖️ This is one of the few west-facing coasts in Kinmen’s Liaoluo Bay, perfect for sunset views but not sunrise.
🌊 The gaps between the wave breakers are large, so watch your step and avoid venturing too far.
📍 Address: Xinhu Fishing Harbor, Jinhu Township, Kinmen County, 891 (End of Shigang Road or Qiangang Road)
