Deyuelou, built in 1931, is the tallest building in the Shuitou settlement.

It was designed and built by Fujian craftsman Chen Nan'an at the request of Mr. Huang Huihuang.

It was named after the saying "being near the water, one gets the moon first." 🕍

There is no fixed staircase inside; one must climb each floor using a movable wooden ladder. In case of attack, the ladder can be retracted floor by floor—a clever design. 👍

It is said that there is a special little window here, allowing one to secretly peek at one's future husband—a romantic and mysterious legend. 🪟 Standing by the window and looking down, one can almost glimpse a secret of time.

Sitting on the chaise lounge inside, with sunlight streaming in and a gentle breeze on my face, I also had my own "chaise dream." 🫧
