[Kagoshima] National Treasure, Kirishima Shrine

Kirishima Shrine, where Ryoma Sakamoto also visited on his honeymoon

It was originally located a little higher up the mountain, but it was repeatedly relocated due to fires caused by eruptions, and the current shrine building was rebuilt in 1715

It was a gorgeous building that somehow reminded me of Nikko Toshogu Shrine

Honestly, it was quite deep in the mountains

I am amazed at the skill and effort of the people who built such a magnificent building 300 years ago

It is still carefully preserved and it is touching to see so many people visiting it

I hope it will continue like this into the future
