[Kagoshima Prefecture] A journey to experience myth and mystery at Kirishima Shrine

Kirishima Shrine is one of the most powerful spots in southern Kyushu, and enshrines Ninigi-no-Mikoto, the protagonist of the founding myth.
It is said that Ryoma Sakamoto and his wife also visited here on their honeymoon.
The shrine is beautiful, with a colorful vermilion shrine building in the depths of a deep green forest.
It was officially designated a national treasure on February 9, 2022.
