[Kagoshima Prefecture] Kirishima Shrine, the most powerful spot in southern Kyushu that captivated Ryoma Sakamoto

We went to Kirishima Shrine in Kagoshima Prefecture ⛩️

This place, located at the foot of the Kirishima mountain range and considered to be the most powerful spot in southern Kyushu, enshrines Ninigi-no-Mikoto, the protagonist of Japan's founding myth, and is a shrine with a long history founded around the 6th century πŸ₯Έ
It is said that even Sakamoto Ryoma visited here on his honeymoon!

After passing through the quiet approach covered in greenery, you will be greeted by a dignified and beautiful vermilion-painted shrine building! The main hall, the offering hall, and the worship hall are all designated as national treasures, and when you visit them up close, you can feel a more solemn atmosphere. πŸ‘€

If you climb the old approach road off to the side of the main hall, you will find a small shrine called "Yamajinja" (mountain shrine), surrounded by magnificent cedar trees that have grown in the great outdoors of Kirishima, creating a mysterious space. 😌

Not only can you see national treasures and important cultural properties up close, but you can also visit in a mysterious and quiet space nurtured by the great outdoors of Kirishima, so you can spend your time relaxing. ✌️
*If it's clear, you can also see the view of Sakurajima from the observation deck in the precincts. πŸ‘€
