[Kochi] Experience the world of impressionist Monet at "Monet's Garden Marmottan in Kitagawa Village"

#SummerThemePark

"Monet's Garden Marmottan" in Kitagawa Village, southeastern Kochi Prefecture

This theme park-like garden, modeled after the gardens of Giverny, France, a lifelong love of the Impressionist master Monet, was opened in April 2000. It recreates Monet's worldview.

Kitagawa Village and Monet originally had no connection. However, when the village was considering ways to revitalize the depopulated village, the link between the village's natural scenery and Monet's worldview became apparent. After directly negotiating with the Fondation Claude Monet, cooperation was successfully secured, and the relationship continues to this day.

As a result, the garden has been endorsed by the Fondation Claude Monet in France.
Recommended for fans of Impressionist paintings.

"Blue water lilies," which Claude Monet reportedly wanted to see his entire life, are in bloom at Marmottan.

Also, there is a myth that seeing a blue bee brings good luck.

The garden is spacious and just the right size for a stroll.

Throughout the garden, actual scenery and Monet's numerous works are linked, allowing for an immersive experience.

Note: There aren't many flowers in the summer, so spring or autumn is recommended.
