Mojiko Port, Fukuoka. "Sankiro"

Sankiro is registered as a Japan Heritage Site by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

It was built in 1931 (Showa 6) as a three-story wooden restaurant.

The restaurant went out of business around 1955, but local volunteers have been running it in its current form since March 2014.

Admission is free (there is a donation box available), and you can see the precious remains and documents of one of Kyushu's largest restaurants.

The restaurant is closed on Mondays (or the following weekday if a public holiday falls on a Monday).

Currently operated by Sankiro Saryo KAITO, you can enjoy fugu cuisine in the comfort of your own room, making it a recommended spot for retro Mojiko cuisine.
