A symphony of nostalgia and sea breeze: A two-day walk in Mojiko Port

#FukuokaItinerary
Day 1: Railway Memory and Nostalgia Tour
Arriving at Mojiko Station by train early in the morning, a wooden building with the atmosphere of the Showa era came into view. This century-old station exudes a strong historical flavor, as if every piece of floor tells the story of past travelers. Strolling through the retro waiting room inside the station and admiring the exquisite window frames and old-fashioned chandeliers, it feels like traveling back to a hundred years ago. For lunch, choose a nostalgic restaurant nearby and taste the local specialty curry. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the nostalgic district of Mojiko and enjoy the scenery of the Western-style buildings and the harbor. At dusk, climb up the port observation tower and look out at the sunset that turns the entire sea surface golden. The romantic atmosphere is unforgettable.
Day 2: Literary Coast and City Lights
The next morning, I chose to take a small ferry across the Kanmon Strait and feel the sea breeze and the rippling water. After arriving on the other side, we visited Akama Jingu Shrine and Karato Market and tasted fresh seafood dishes with an unforgettable sweet taste. In the afternoon, we returned to Mojiko and visited the Kyushu Railway Memorial Museum to learn about the historical trajectory of railway development and touch the ancient railway equipment with our own hands. In the evening, stroll along the harbor and capture the charming light and shadow of the city lights reflected on the sea after sunset, filling your heart with warm nostalgic feelings, which is a perfect end to this journey.
