When traveling to Fukuoka, Mojiko Retro is a must-visit place. This port town, full of retro atmosphere, seems to freeze time in the early 20th century, attracting visitors with its strong nostalgic vibe as soon as they set foot on this land.
Mojiko is most famous for its unique Mojiko Retro District, where many well-preserved European-style buildings are gathered. In Mojiko, you can take the Kanmon Strait ferry to Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture on the opposite shore. The ferry ride takes only 5 minutes, but the feeling of the sea breeze and the beautiful strait scenery is refreshing.
