Good Vibes @ Mojiko

Even in the sweltering summer, the sea breeze at Mojiko Retro was surprisingly refreshing. Red brick buildings—the former Moji Customs House, the former Moji Mitsui Club—lined the harbor promenade, their walls bearing the marks of time, creating the rhythm of a quiet small town. As the bridge slowly lifted in time for the opening and closing of Bluewing Moji, the sound of boats crossing the strait and the wind took over the heart of the city.
I strolled in search of shade with an iced coffee in hand at a cafe near Kaikyo Plaza, and the sparkling afternoon sea quickly gave way to evening light. The interior exhibits were modest, but if strolling was the goal, there was no better summer destination. Staying quietly, I fully experienced a day at the port, bridging the past and present.
