[Kobe] Why is there a Poseidon statue?! About Suma Rikyu Park 🌸

📍 Suma Rikyu Park
1-1 Higashisuma, Suma Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture 654-0018
Admission fee: ¥400

This park in Kobe City is a popular tourist destination for its beautiful roses.🌹

However, upon entering the park, one building stands out:
It looks exactly like the Parthenon!

There's a statue of Poseidon in front of the fountain, but it's a replica.
It was apparently donated to Kobe by the Greek government in 1970 during the Japan World Exposition to commemorate friendship between Greece and Japan.
The flowers weren't in bloom when I visited, but if you visit during rose season, the view is sure to be even more beautiful.💐
