[Kochi] Harimaya Bridge 🌉

#Spring0yentrip

I went to Harimaya Bridge, a well-known tourist spot in Kochi City!

To be honest, at first I thought, "Maybe it's smaller than I thought...?", but when I actually went there, I learned about its history and the background of how it has been loved by local people, and I became interested.

Harimaya Bridge is known as a bridge built in the Edo period so that a monk from the Tosa clan could secretly give gifts to his lover. This episode is also sung in the "Yosakoi Bushi", and it is said to be a popular date spot for couples because of the love story.

The bridge itself is compact, but the bright red railings make it photogenic. There are tourist information boards in the area where you can learn about the history and culture, so it was not just a "photogenic spot", but a place with a lot to see.

There are souvenir shops and cafes near Harimaya Bridge, so it's perfect for stopping by while you're out walking. It's recommended as a spot where you can easily visit in a short amount of time!
It's easy to stop by between sightseeing, and it's a perfect spot for taking photos and strolling.
