Koh Samet is breathtakingly beautiful! With fewer tourists, crystal-clear waters, and minimal commercialization, it’s a paradise you won’t want to leave after exploring.
Diamond Beach is the main beach on Koh Samet. Located near the commercial street, it features popular coffee shops, a mermaid statue, and various water activities. The sand is as fine as flour, making it the perfect spot to lounge all afternoon and wait for the sunset.
Sunset: During my four-day stay on Koh Samet, I witnessed two stunning sunsets! One day, I almost gave up on seeing the sunset and was about to head out for dinner. But within just ten minutes, the faint light transformed into a breathtaking sunset that painted the entire sea red!
Along the beach, there are also other seaside bars and restaurants to choose from. Additionally, motorbike rental services are available, allowing you to explore the island freely and at your own pace.
Travel Tips:
Best Travel Time: From February to November each year, when the weather is warm and dry, making it the ideal season to explore Koh Samet.
Transportation:
From Bangkok’s Eastern Bus Terminal, purchase a ticket to Ban Phe Pier. The bus costs 180 THB per person, while the minivan costs 200 THB per person. Both are similarly comfortable, but the air conditioning on board is very strong, so remember to bring a jacket.
Once you arrive at the pier, you’ll need to take a boat to the island. A speedboat costs 200 THB per person and takes just 15 minutes to reach the island.
