The Sanhuangshan Taohuayu Tourist Area is located on Guangwu Mountain, 20 kilometers northwest of Zhengzhou City. It faces the mighty Yellow River to the north, towering Mount Song to the south, the Yellow River Scenic Area to the east, and the Chu-Han border to the west. Covering a total area of 10 square kilometers, the area boasts a 90% vegetation coverage rate. Located at the junction of the Loess Plateau and the Huanghuai Plain, the Taohuayu Tourist Area boasts a unique topography with crisscrossing gullies, alternating valley crests, and a beautiful environment. It is home to numerous historical sites and scenic spots.
Peach blossoms bloom here, the Yellow River divides the area, and Xiangqi (Chinese chess) originated here. Sanhuang Mountain, also known as Guangwu Mountain, and Taohuayu, also known as Senglang Valley, are named after the "peach groves lining the banks. In March, the blossoms sway in the wind, dazzling visitors." Taohuayu was once an imperial orchard during the heyday of the Tang Dynasty. Empress Wu Zetian's famous tale of "admiring peach blossoms in March and tasting flat peaches in June" is well-known. The tourist area currently boasts sites and attractions such as the Mausoleum of Zheng Wugong, the Tang Zhaocheng Temple, Senglang Valley Fruit Manor, a replica of the ancient Great Wall, the ancient Yellow River ferry, the Sanhuang Cultural Park, the boundary marker between the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, an ecological ski resort, Taoyuan Villa, and the Taohuayu Fu, all of which offer high tourism and scenic value.
The temperate monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
From a high vantage point, you can enjoy the scenery of the starting point of the Yellow River's hanging river state. There is a tower-like building that is the Yellow River Boundary Tower, which is worth seeing.
