Temple Hopping in Koh Samui

#summervacay Koh Samui isn’t just beaches and cocktails, it’s got some pretty epic temples too. The Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) is the headliner, and yeah, it’s big. Like 12 meters tall, gold, and just casually sitting there looking majestic. You can see it from miles away, but getting up close is way cooler.

There’s also Wat Plai Laem nearby, which is kinda wild in the best way. Giant white statue of Guanyin with a bunch of arms, colorful artwork everywhere, and the whole thing’s floating on a lake with fish you can feed. Super peaceful but also super photogenic.

The temples here are chill, no crazy crowds, just good vibes, stunning views, and some cultural flavor to balance out all the beach bumming. Don’t forget to cover up a bit (sarongs are usually free to borrow), and maybe go early before it gets hot.

Koh Samui temples give you that “wow” moment without feeling too touristy. Golden statues, sea breezes, and a little zen time? Yes please.
