Silavadee Pool Spa Resort, a paradise on Koh Samui
We had the opportunity to stay in May, traveling from Koh Tao to Koh Samui Pier. Upon arrival, the hotel shuttle picked us up (this is an additional fee). Upon arrival, the resort was beautiful, and we felt truly peaceful and relaxed from the moment we stepped foot in. The resort's design blends seamlessly with nature.
The room we chose this time was the Scenic Ocean View Pool Villa, number 34.
It's a villa with a private pool on a hillside, with partial sea views. Our room was blocked by large rocks and trees. If you're visiting, I recommend requesting a different room number for a better view.
This room type is almost the most expensive in the hotel, second only to the Ocean Front Pool Villa. It offers many amenities, including a terrazzo bathtub overlooking the pool, offering a slight sea view. If you want a great room, specify which side you're booking (East/South), as location affects the view and the morning/evening light.
We rated the food here as the best.
When we arrived, we had lunch at the hotel. We chose the Moon restaurant, which offers both international and Thai dishes. We opted for pizza. It was absolutely delicious.
For dinner, our villa offered a choice of seafood at the Star restaurant, a rooftop bar with panoramic sea views, or a private BBQ Villa Dining service where our chef would grill seafood or meat for us in our private villa, complete with canapés, wine, and dessert.
Today, we chose to dine at the rooftop bar because we wanted the sea view and ordered a seafood barbecue. We got a large set of shrimp, shellfish, crab, and fish—a truly mouthwatering sight.
Unfortunately, the oysters weren't as fresh as they should have been. We made a small complaint, but it wasn't a big deal. A short while later, the head chef and manager came to our table to talk to us and apologize profusely. It was a pleasant surprise, as we hadn't expected it to be such a big deal. However, it showed that they truly care about their customers. After our discussion, the chef promised to prepare a private Thai meal the next morning. It was truly impressive service.
For breakfast, we ate in the breakfast room. The hotel's seaside atmosphere and breakfast were a delight. The hotel's breakfast menu included poached eggs, salmon scrambled eggs, egg benedict, truffled scrambled eggs, eggs & caviar, lobster rolls, and roti ma-ta-ba. I give it a 1000/10 rating.
And most importantly, as promised, the head chef cooked us a Thai dish: authentic Songkhla-style sour curry with sea bass, omelet, and steamed rice. It was incredibly delicious and satisfying.
When we checked out, the hotel shuttle dropped us off at the pier, as usual. Overall, I was very impressed with the service and food on this trip. If we have the chance, we will definitely go back.
