Yigong Co, also known as Yigong Lake, is located in Yigong Township, Bomi County, Nyingchi Prefecture, on the southern foot of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains, in a wide valley downstream of the Yigong Zangbo, the largest tributary of the Parlung Zangbo River.
Although it is located north of the Himalayas, it has a subtropical climate similar to that of the south, with beautiful lakes and mountains.
Due to the influence of the Indian Ocean moisture coming from the Yarlung Zangbo and Parlung Zangbo River valleys, the area is warm and humid, and is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round.
