Built in the mid-Ming Dynasty, the Longchuan Hu Clan Ancestral Hall served as a place for the Hu family to worship their ancestors and discuss family affairs. The Hu Clan Ancestral Hall was constructed in 1547, the 25th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty. The hall is primarily decorated with various wood carvings, earning it the nickname "Woodcarving Art Museum" and "Palace of National Art." Longchuan is also the ancestral home of former President Hu Jintao.
