Sharing a Bali + Komodo Island travel plan

#SharingPlan First trip to Indonesia! A full 6-day trip exploring Bali, crossing over to Nusa Penida Island, and staying on a boat to tour Komodo ⛵️ Covered almost everything we and our friends wanted to visit, but woke up super early before 5 AM every day 😂 You can follow along! While traveling, we were confused whether we were on vacation or training for battle—the condition of everyone coming back was totally exhausted.

Day 1 - Bali 🌴
- Arrived in Bali around noon, so not much time left today
- Pison cafe 🍴
- Monkey Forest
- Tegalalang Rice Terrace (we avoided day clubs like Cretya because they’re packed with people unless you go right at opening)
- Nusantara by Locavore 🍴
- Stayed at Zen Hideaway 🛖

Day 2 - Bali 🌴
- Woke up early to watch the sunrise, relaxed a bit, then went to play on the Bali swing at the accommodation, shared by only 3 villas
- Handara gate
- Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
- Leke Leke Waterfall
- Penny Lane 🍴
- Bodyworks Spa 🧖🏻‍♀️
- Kilo 🍴

Day 3 - Nusa Penida 🌊
- Took the 6:30 AM boat to Nusa Penida Island
- Tree house
- Diamond beach
- Kelingking beach
- Took the 4:30 PM boat back to Bali
- Skool 🍴✨ This place is amazing, a must-try
- Mexicola

Day 4-6 - Komodo ⛵️
- Booked a 3-day 2-night liveaboard trip. You need to fly into Labuan Bajo first, about 1 hour flight from Bali
- Snorkeling at 4 spots, super packed with activities, even saw manta rays
- Taka Makassar
- Padar Island, the trip highlight, woke up at 4 AM to watch the sunrise
- Pink beach
- Komodo National Park
- Kalong Island to see bats at sunset 🦇
- On the last day, there’s a quick snorkeling trip before heading back. The trip ends around noon, then fly back. If you don’t want to stay on the boat, you can buy day trips too, but the plan will be more packed.

This trip focused on a chill pace, spending more time at each place. Some spots require hiking up and down, which takes time. We didn’t visit many photo content spots because the popular photo spots have at least a 2-hour queue, not enough time 😰

Also want to share what we experienced beyond the beautiful pictures. Bali isn’t as cute to us as it looks 🤧 So don’t set your expectations too high:
- Traffic jams are terrible, worse than Bangkok. Anywhere you go takes 1-2 hours. If you want to rent a car to drive yourself, don’t do it. If you can ride a motorbike, renting one is fine but be careful.
- Photo spots and check-in places with beautiful views on Instagram have at least a 2-hour wait. Better go somewhere else 😂
- Visual sexual harassment is intense, with people staring from left to right. We understand because some days we wore shorts to go to the beach, but still, a little more respect would be appreciated.
- Some people have no manners. They sneak photos with a phone held up right in front of your face. Some even FaceTime while filming, and when we block or turn away, they just move to another angle to keep filming, totally ignoring us.
- Airport facilities are very poor. Our group had a friend who had an accident and needed a wheelchair, but there was none at the front, so we had to run inside to ask. The staff at the front just wanted to charge for pushing the wheelchair instead of helping coordinate. Unlike in Thailand, where they take great care and even escort you to the hospital after landing.
