Japan🇯🇵Tohoku Koriyama Station-Coco Frans

If you’re ever in Koriyama Station and craving some solid, comforting tonkatsu, Tonkatsu Wako is the go-to spot. It’s one of those reliable chains in Japan that consistently delivers a good meal—no fuss, just great pork katsu done right.
They offer both loin (rosu) and tenderloin (hire) cuts, but personally, I always go for the loin katsu—a bit more fat, a lot more flavor. The pork here is always fried to perfection: super crispy on the outside thanks to the fine panko breadcrumbs, yet still juicy and tender inside.
What I really like about Wako is their consistency. You know exactly what you’re getting: clean, well-prepared food using quality local pork. It’s no-frills, but everything from the rice to the shredded cabbage and miso soup is spot on. Plus, many of the set meals come with free refills of rice and cabbage—perfect if you’re extra hungry.
Since Wako is a nationwide chain, you can find them in many parts of Japan, which makes it a reliable option when you’re on the move and in need of a comforting, satisfying meal. For the price you pay, it’s great value and always hits the spot.
