Ruins of Termessos - Antalya, Turkey

What a beautiful ancient city ruins that is hidden in the mountains of Antalya. If you are interested in history then this place is a must visit!

Termessos is built on Mountain Solymos in the Taurus range and soars over 1,000 metres above sea level. The amphitheatre has stunning panoramic views of the Pamphylia region and the Taurus Mountains.

Nowadays Termessos is a part of the Gulluk Dagi National Park, this area hosts rare species of both flora and fauna, it's worth taking some time to explore. It took 4,5 hours for us to explore the site property including the hike from the car parking which takes about 45 minutes. The hike from the car parking is rigorous and it gets very hot in the mountains. I recommend to wear comfortable shoes and bring some snacks, an umbrella, plenty of water and hats with you.

Termessos is located around 30 km northwest of Antalya.
