The Pink Mosque in Kota Kinabalu

The Pink Mosque in Kota Kinabalu is one of the three major mosques in the city and is commonly referred to as the Pink Mosque. It is located within the campus of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). You can reach it in about 15 minutes by taxi or Uber from the city center of Kota Kinabalu.

Tourists are required to pay an entrance fee of RM10 at the university's gate (this fee also allows access to other parts of the campus besides the mosque). The university campus is vast, with taxis even operating within its grounds. Since the walk to the mosque is quite long, it is recommended to prepare for the heat if you plan to walk.

As it is a mosque, visitors must cover their hair and wear clothing that does not expose the skin. Robes and hijabs are available for free rental. The mosque is not only notable for its pink exterior but also for its beautiful architectural features, such as the lattice-patterned windows at the entrance.

*Note: Entry is prohibited on Fridays from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM due to prayer services.*
