●The road to Kotohira Shrine, famous for its stairs, is not only steep, but there are also shops and souvenir stores along the way, so it's not just a climb. However, at lunchtime, you will only be able to walk up the first half of the stairs, and the second half will be just climbing, so please consider your physical condition and give it a try during this hot season.

●I was also surprised to find that there were quite a few stylish cafes and shops around the base of the mountain. Be sure to try the shaved ice, which you can only get in the summer.
