[Kagawa🇯🇵] A day spent around Konpira-san

Kotohira Shrine, affectionately known as Konpira-san.

It is a famous power spot in Japan, and a great weekend getaway spot where you can enjoy gourmet food in the surrounding area.

Here is a sample itinerary~

① Stroll along Omotesando

The road to Kotohira Shrine is Omotesando, and on both sides of the road you can enjoy gourmet food and souvenir shops.

② Konpira Udon

When you think of Kagawa Gen, you think of udon!

I had a refreshing bowl of udon noodles at a restaurant called Konpira Udon.

This restaurant is located along Omotesando, and apparently a certain table appeared in the Chibi Maruko-chan anime.

I had a photo of that scene, and it was exactly the same!!

③ To Kotohira Shrine
The path to the inner shrine of Kotohira Shrine has about 1,368 stone steps, which is quite hard lol
There are shops along the path up to the middle, so you can enjoy the climb at a leisurely pace, but the stairs at the end are quite steep and will strain your legs 😅

However, you can pray at the inner shrine and enjoy the view from the top, so I recommend you try it at least once, even if you have to rent a walking stick!

④ Nakanoya Kotohira Ice Cream
If you make it to the inner shrine and come back to the main approach, treat yourself to some oiri ice cream!
It is topped with oiri, a round rice cake confectionery that is a traditional sweet of Kagawa, and is a pastel-colored sweet that looks great in photos 🍨

⑤ To the hot springs
There are several small hot springs nearby, so you can soothe your fatigue at the end. The hot spring after climbing the stone steps and exercising was amazing ♨️
