[Wakayama] Mount Koya, one of Japan's three major sacred sites

* Mount Koya

Surrounded by peaks reaching approximately 1,000 meters, Mount Koya, located in a mountain basin, is a sacred site of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai 1,200 years ago. ☺️

The entire Mount Koya area is known as the "Head Temple Kongobu-ji," and the "Okunoin" and "Danjo Garan" are particularly revered as two major sacred sites. ✨

Of the 117 temples, 51 offer lodgings for the general public. We also recommend experiencing the same training as the ascetics of the past and exploring the legends surrounding Kukai. ✨

It's a very relaxing and spiritually cleansing place, and I highly recommend it. 🥰
