Located in the southern part of Xiangdong District, Pingxiang City, Bihutan Forest Park comprises three scenic areas: Wufeng Mountain, Guanghan Village, and Bihutan. Its forest coverage rate is 88.5%. Known for its picturesque valleys, limpid waters, unique rocks, lush forests, and rich history, it boasts unique forest tourism resources, a rich cultural heritage, and a well-organized environment.
The forest park boasts lush forests and bamboo groves, creating dense shade and winding paths, brimming with birdsong and fragrance. Towering peaks and ridges create a unique landscape and breathtaking scenery. Located upstream of the Caoshui and Pingshui Rivers, the park boasts rich hydrological resources. Uniquely, at an altitude of over 800 meters, visitors can admire the expansive mountain meadows at Po Po Rock. Within the park, visitors can admire the Danxia landscape of Tiger Mountain, featuring a cliff-hanging Immortal Chessboard, several feet high, and naturally adorned with cacti. The park also boasts the Potuo Grottoes and the 5-kilometer-long Robber's Cave. In Baizhu Township, visitors can admire the Po Guan Stone Forest, General Stone, Turtle Stone, One Line Sky, Monkey Cave, natural stone wells, and Brothers Standing Guard, all of which are breathtakingly vivid and each possesses its own unique charm.
The forest park is rich in plant species, including 12 national first- and second-class protected plants such as southern yew and ginkgo. Due to its significant topography, a unique mid-mountain meadow landscape covering an area of about 240 hectares has been formed at an altitude of 800 to 1,100 meters in Po Po Rock, Baizhu Township, which is very rare in the whole of Jiangxi.
The forest park is located in the subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with distinct four seasons, abundant rainfall, and an average annual temperature of 17.3℃, making it suitable for travel in all seasons.
Mother-in-law Rock
Po Po Rock is located on a mountain in the northeast corner of Taisha Village, 1,150 meters above sea level. Running north-south, it covers an area of approximately 600 hectares. A nunnery, built atop a 30-meter-high stone platform several meters above sea level, tilts eastward. Originally, the nunnery housed statues of the deities, Gong Gong and Po Po. From a distance, the rocks resemble weathered old women, earning the name Po Po Rock.
Bihutan Waterfall
The Bihutan Waterfall is connected to the Bihutan Lake. The lake water falls straight down from the dam, like a screen woven of pearls. The drop is nearly 20 meters, nearly 7 stories high.
