A truly last-minute and impromptu trip to #railay #krabi 😅 #hotelreview
When we suddenly booked a stay at #RailayPhutawanResort #RailayAo #Railay without any warning. And, of course, we didn't even bother checking the weather forecast.

We traveled earlier this month, coinciding with the Meteorological Department's warning for waves and thunderstorms on the Andaman coast. Krabi experienced some rain and wind, but it was brief and quickly cleared up.

In short, the day we chose was almost rainy, no sunny, lol 🌧️

To get to Railay, you need to take a passenger boat. You can board at Ao Nam Mao Pier. The cost is 100 baht per person per trip.
Boats run every two hours, with the last one at 6:30 PM. The journey takes about 13-15 minutes to reach the pier on the east side of Railay Beach.
We took the last boat because we were too busy and caught in the rain. The boat was fully loaded with 15+2 passengers.

The hotel offers a shuttle service from the pier to the hotel, but you might have to walk a bit to the pick-up point. It's easy to find and the hotel is always available (we used #whatsapp, which was easy and convenient).

The rain continued to pour down ☔️.
The path to the hotel was crisscrossed by forests and mountains. I wasn't sure where we were exactly, but the welcome drink was delicious and refreshing, even though we were soaked and shivering from the rain outside.

The room was quite spacious and comfortable, so the four of us were comfortable together. The queen-sized beds are split on either side, and the amenities are complete.
The pool bar area closes at 10 p.m. The pool is incredibly long and satisfying. The mountain view in front is truly breathtaking, especially during the day when it's been drizzling all day. The mountain backdrop is filled with mist, with towering limestone cliffs hidden among the clouds. Swimming in the pool and then emerging to see that view makes me think I'm a water spirit in the land of immortals. 🧚🏼♀️

After checking out, you can leave your luggage and wander around the island. #RainySeasonTravel isn't so bad. There aren't many people and the atmosphere is peaceful. If you're on a boat, sometimes it's exciting when the gentle waves crash.

I'm thinking...lonely, but if you can relax your body and mind near the mountains for a day or two, your heavy burdens will become much lighter. 😉
