From Bangkok, Thailand, it takes a 2-hour domestic flight to Krabi Airport. From the airport, it's a 1-hour taxi ride to the pier, followed by a 10-minute boat ride to reach the destination.
This area is called "Railay."
Although it is connected to the mainland, the only way to access it is by boat, giving it a slightly secluded, hidden-gem vibe. The area is compact enough to walk around in about an hour. With few Japanese tourists and only a handful of hotels, it offers a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Despite its small size, it is quite convenient with restaurants, bars, massage parlors, cafes, souvenir shops, and currency exchange services. However, there are no convenience stores.
You can enjoy activities like cave exploration, visiting a small island accessible during low tide, watching the sunrise and sunset, and encountering wild monkey families living on the island (note: feeding them will result in a fine 😅).
Accommodation: "Railay Resort & Spa"
The hotel consists of individual villas, and the staff will transport you around the property using golf carts due to its spacious layout. The bathrooms are large, equipped with both a bathtub and a shower. However, since towels are exchanged at the front desk, it can be a bit inconvenient if your room is far from it.
There is a shop that doubles as a souvenir store and a convenience store.
The hotel features two pools, one restaurant, and a poolside bar (which seems to operate only at night). The breakfast buffet includes made-to-order omelets and pancakes, prepared right in front of you, along with a wide variety of fruits. Monkeys may try to snatch food, but the staff, armed with brooms, keep them at bay, so you can dine worry-free.
You can also book tours to explore nearby islands like Phi Phi Island, which is highly recommended.
Listening to the sound of the sea while watching the sunset was truly healing✨. This destination is perfect for those looking to spend calm and peaceful moments.
