Upon arrival, we were surrounded by emerald greenery that immediately set the stage for a peaceful experience. We encountered charming colonial-style architecture, with dark teal wood floors and elegant Thai fabric decor. The resort features one of Thailand's most expansive pools, resembling a lagoon. At every verdant corner, you'll find jacuzzis for relaxation and a swim-up bar. Our afternoons seamlessly drifted by at the Kho Poda swim-up bar, where we enjoyed tasty cocktails with a Thai flair. Breakfast at Maya Restaurant was diverse and delectable, offering continental, local, Indian, and Thai options. The pastries were indulgent, paired with artisanal butters, preserves, and a variety of honeys, making for a delightful experience. Evenings were spent at the Explorer bar, where we listened to a live band while savoring signature cocktails. Nestled in its own Thai-style pavilion, the So SPA with L’Occitane offered pure indulgence. The massages and facials left a lasting impression, especially with the skilled therapists Bee and Na. Post-treatment, we were served lavender tea and dried fruits. We reserved two rooms with pool views, featuring dark teakwood floors, ceiling fans, air conditioning, king-size and twin beds, and private balconies. Each room had a small writing desk, mini bar, and safe box. The bathrooms were spacious, equipped with both a separate bathtub and a walk-in glass shower with Karl Lagerfeld amenities—a delightful added touch. Sofitel truly embodies tropical indulgence through its colonial architecture, expansive lush gardens, inviting pool, and luxurious spa.
