One of the Iconic Landmarks of KL

#kualalumpur
Merdeka Square or Dataran Merdeka is undoubtedly KL’s best known historical landmark, located in Jalan Raja, City Center of Kuala Lumpur. Formerly known as The Royal Selangor Club's Padang(field). This is the historical place where the Malaysian flag raised for the very first time at midnight on 31st, August 1957. Since then, Merdeka Square has been the usual venue for the annual National Day Parade. At the southern end of the square, there is a 95 meter flagpole proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag), it's one of the tallest in the world.
The Sultan Abdul Samad Building was built in late 19th century. This iconic Indo-Saracenic & Neo-Mughal architectural style building was originally housed the offices of the British colonial administration in Malaya. Today, this historical building houses the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia.
