Night walk at Merdeka Square

One of the iconic history site in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) is a location that usually took place for Indepence Day of Malaysia on 31st August.

It is a great spot to lepak with friends, enjoying the view of historic building Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, the field, KL Tower, and Petronas.

Usually, the road was closed- but I’m not sure for what reason. Oh and yeah, at night, a quick stroll around the area is a whole vibe. Most people rented out scooters to ride around, and there’s food trucks so you can enjoy snacking or sip on drinks.

Behind the Sultan Abdul Samad building, there’s path ways and you can see River of Life KL. A new landscape for the area as it is nearby to Masjid Jamek also.

Back in 2018 or 2019, an art festival Urbanscapes took place there and it has changed my view towards Malaysia Tanah Airku. There’s so much more than just a plain city, the essence of the history that makes Malaysia special at heart.

Here’s some part of Merdeka Square I managed to snap!
