Bunn Choon in Kuala Lumpur is a paradise for lovers of traditional snacks and Hong Kong-style dim sum. Just stepping inside, you’ll be greeted by the fragrant aroma of Egg Tarts with thin, crispy crusts and perfectly sweet, creamy custard filling. We recommend the Char Siu Pai, a flaky, crispy pastry filled with perfectly balanced sweet and savory barbecued pork. The Lou Poh Beng is sweet and soft, infused with the unique fragrance of dried orange peel.

Upstairs, the vintage atmosphere with small, cozy tables sets the mood. The dim sum menu isn’t extensive, but every bite is packed with flavor – large Siu Mai with dense filling, fresh and bouncy Har Gao shrimp dumplings, and Radish Cake fried to a crispy golden brown, paired with spicy grilled shrimp chili sauce! Prices are affordable, and locals line up early in the morning because this gem is not to be missed.

Make sure to go before noon; the restaurant closes at 3:30 PM and is closed on Mondays. If you visit Chinatown KL, you have to try it!
