Reef to Plate Dinner Buffet at DoubleTree by Hilton KL, A Sustainable Meal for Seafood Lovers

I had the chance to check out the Reef to Plate Dinner Buffet at Makan Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, and seafood lovers are in for a real treat! Happening every Friday and Saturday until 28 June 2025, this all-you-can-eat spread features super fresh seafood like oysters, Pacific scallops, mud crab, baby lobster, and snow crab legs. Some of my favorites were the Mud Crab Dum Biryani, Grilled Sambal Tiger Prawns, and the Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg—each dish packed with bold, satisfying flavors.

What really impressed me is their commitment to sustainability. Not only do they work closely with suppliers that have a shorter carbon footprint, but they also put effort into reducing food waste. For example, excess food from the buffet is donated to organizations that distribute meals to those in need, and even the white part of watermelon skin is creatively turned into pickles—nothing goes to waste here!
