Ghost Lane is located near Petaling Street. This short alley was originally a daily living space for local residents, but it has now become an art attraction. As you walk into Ghost Lane, you will be drawn to the unique murals, each with different themes and stories, yet closely connected, showcasing the history and culture of Kuala Lumpur.
The name Ghost Lane comes from the nickname "ghost kids" given by locals to the children playing in the alley. It is said that on rainy days, these children would play in the alley, and their laughter and noise often made nearby neighbors think they were causing mischief, so the alley was called "Ghost Lane." Over time, this alley has also become one of the cultural symbols of Kuala Lumpur.
Every wall in Ghost Lane is painted with vivid murals that depict local history, daily life, and what Kuala Lumpur looked like in the past. Some murals portray scenes from old street life, while others are artistic creations based on local legends or Kuala Lumpur’s multicultural background. These works not only add an artistic atmosphere to the alley but also allow visitors to experience the city’s past and present in just a few steps.
In addition, Ghost Lane is not only home to art but also retains many shops and restaurants with local characteristics, filling the alley with a strong local flavor. The most famous is the century-old tea house, which offers authentic Malaysian tea and snacks, making it a must-visit spot for many tourists.
