Thean Hou Temple

Thean Hou Temple, also known as the Goddess of the Sea Temple, is considered one of the largest and most beautiful Chinese temples in Malaysia. It is located on Robson Heights hill in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The temple was built to honor the "Goddess Tian Hou," or the Goddess of the Sea, who is believed by the Hokkien and Teochew Chinese communities to protect sailors.

The temple features traditional Chinese architecture blended with contemporary elements, highlighted by its multi-tiered curved roofs adorned with dragons, vibrant ceramic decorations, and thousands of red lanterns throughout the temple. The atmosphere becomes especially lively and beautiful during the Chinese New Year festival.

Inside the temple, there is a main worship hall for paying respects to the Goddess Tian Hou, Goddess Guan Yin, and other deities. Outside, there is a small Chinese garden, a koi pond, and a viewing terrace that offers a panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur.
