Surprisingly Insightful & Free – A Must-Visit in KL

I visited the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery and was genuinely impressed by how everything was informative, well-organized, and beautifully presented. Not to mention, it’s free to enter!

The museum is spread across several floors, each with a clear theme:
- Ground Floor: Registration area, Children's Gallery, and Museum Shop for souvenirs.
- 1st Floor: The Bank Negara Malaysia Gallery, which provides a great overview of Malaysia’s central bank and its role in the economy.
- 2nd Floor: The Numismatic Gallery (my personal highlight!) It showcases the evolution of currency in Malaysia, from early barter items and ancient coins to today’s banknotes.
- 3rd Floor: The RONA & KATA Art Gallery, which articulates the intersection of art and literature through almost 160 works featuring artists from Malaysia and ASEAN countries.

The building itself is modern, clean, and calm, perfect for a quiet couple of hours in KL. Parking is free on weekends and public holidays, whereas RM5 for first 4 hours during weekdays.

Whether you're a tourist, a student, or just someone curious about Malaysia's financial history and art scene, this place is well worth a visit. Give yourself 1.5–2 hours to explore fully. Highly recommended!
