It was rebuilt in 1923. A cable-stayed bridge spanning the Nujiang River, it is built on reefs in the river, splitting the bridge into two spans. From a distance, it resembles a double rainbow, hence its name. The eastern section of the bridge spans 67 meters, the western section 38 meters, and is 2.8 meters wide, for a total length of 162.5 meters. It is constructed of 15 and 12 iron chains, respectively. Gatehouses were built at either end of the bridge, with the eastern gatehouse still existing. It is a through-beam earthen structure. It was a key bridge on the Southwest Silk Road and was designated a Yunnan Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Site in 1993.
