GRAND PALACE IN MALAYSIA.

**Istana Negara** is the official residence of the King of Malaysia, but you can't actually go inside; only the exterior is open for viewing. Still, the scale is quite large, and the entrance is very grand, making it a perfect spot for taking photos📸
The most famous highlights are the changing of the guard ceremony in front of the main gate and the royal palace view with its golden dome. The guards stand on horseback on either side of the main gate, holding a fixed pose without moving, so many tourists take pictures with them🐴. It’s more interesting if you go during the guard changing ceremony, but since the time is fixed, you need to check in advance!
You can only see the palace from the outside, but the building design and landscaping are so beautiful that it’s great to stop by briefly to look around and take photos. It’s not far from downtown and easy to get to by Grab, so it’s a good spot to include in your itinerary. Especially in the morning or around sunset, the sunlight shines toward the main gate, making for beautiful photos✨
A note of caution: there is almost no shade on hot days, so it’s good to bring a parasol or hat. It’s a nice spot for a short visit, but not somewhere to stay long, so we recommend pairing it with other nearby attractions.
✅ Summary in one line:
“Capture a perfect shot in front of the grand palace and have a special encounter with the mounted guards!”
