GRAND PALACE IN MALAYSIA.

**Istana Negara** is the official residence of the King of Malaysia.
The interior is not open to the public, so you cannot enter and tour inside; most visitors only see the building and the royal guards from the outside.
The area in front of the main gate is spacious and neatly maintained, and the most popular photo spot is where the mounted royal guards stand.
You can often see people lining up to take pictures, and the guards hardly move, making it easy to take photos.
If you're lucky, you might catch the changing of the guard ceremony, but it’s not on a fixed schedule, so it’s not guaranteed.
The palace building features a striking golden dome and white exterior walls, and the whole place is well maintained, making it a nice spot for a short visit.
Touring the site usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes, and it’s recommended to combine it with other nearby attractions.
There is no dedicated parking lot, and most visitors stop by briefly using Grab or other vehicles.
On weekends or public holidays, tour buses can crowd the area, so the relatively quiet morning hours are more comfortable.
✅ Summary:
“Indoor tours are not allowed, but the neat exterior and mounted royal guards make it a great spot for a quick visit.”
