Bukit Chendering: Small Hill, Big Drama

Me at 5:45 AM: “This is going to be peaceful and beautiful!”
Ten minutes later: socks soaking, arms swinging on ropes, and cursing myself for wearing non-hiking shoes 🤦♀️
Bukit Chendering may be a small hill, but believe me—it packs a punch. Steep, slippery trails (bonus: ropes overhead to save your dignity) 🌿✔️ .
By the time I reached the peak (a sweaty six‑minute sprint later), most trees were blocking the view. So I kept hiking—past a lonely lighthouse, down the cliff trail, and finally onto a rocky beach for the real sunrise payoff 🌅 .
Was it worth it? Absolutely. Blue skies, South China Sea vibes, and bragging rights that I survived the rope climb and the early wake-up call. 🏆✨
Top tips:
	•	Wear proper footwear
	•	Expect mosquitoes as VIP greeters
	•	Park inside the port for RM 1, keep your hike official and safe with the friendly guard map briefing
