Royale Chulan Villa - Gem of East Coast

We recently spent a night at the RC Cherating Villa, a Royale Chulan property. The hillside resort was perfect for our needs, and we got a fantastic deal on our stay here (read : booked via trip.com)

The RC Villa is located on a hilly side, overlooking Cherating Bay (well known for surfing 🏄‍♀️). We were assigned a 1 bedroom villa (room 106) which offers unobstructed view of the Bay and two 2-bedroom villas (117 & 118).

Which room to avoid? - 116, 117 (blocked view) and Ocean Suite (less privacy coz next to swimming pool. You have to close curtains all day long)

Things to improve? : i. Breakfast. You won’t feel having breakfast at 5* hotel here. Royale Chulan is usually known for its interesting food & beverage outlets but certainly not here.

ii. Safety. Guard should be stationed at the beach entrance to avoid trespassers.

Things to note : No cars allowed in the resort. They use buggies to transport guests from parking area to resort. you can walk actually(read hiking), not that far.

Despite all these, I’d gladly return. Very beautiful resort indeed. Hopefully service will be improved in future. If you’re on vacation and primarily looking to visit Kuantan, then I’d recommend staying over there.
