Kuching offers more than charm—it tells stories, and Sarawak Museum is where those stories live. Recently revamped, it’s a world-class showcase of Borneo’s cultures, biodiversity, and colonial past. Spacious, modern, and impressively curated, the museum offers immersive visuals and multi-sensory zones. While some interactive displays were temporarily offline during my visit, the experience remained deeply engaging—a must-visit for anyone curious about Sarawak’s soul.
Just across the city, take a fun detour to the DBKU Cat Museum, the world’s first museum dedicated to cats. Quirky, colourful, and full of feline folklore, it’s light-hearted fun with stunning views over the city. The museum captures Kuching’s whimsical side—after all, “Kuching” does mean “cat.”
