Aso-boy is a train designed
specifically for children passengers. There are colorful seats decorated with the cartoon character KURO or the black dog
throughout the train that will make you smile when you see it. There is space for children in the train, both seats for parents and children, a picture book library, and a wooden ball pool, etc. There is a cafe and souvenir zone. The front and back of the train are large glass cabinets that allow you to see the view. This train is just as popular as the
Yufuin No Mori train. If you want to meet KURO,
you have to book in advance. There are quite a few seats on this train.
It is usually full all the time. The reviews that I saw were empty
because it was during the new opening of the country and there weren't many people.
Japanese trains are one of the highlights that make traveling
in Japan more fun.
Transportation: It runs between Kumamoto Station
and Beppu Station and does not run every day.
For travel routes, you can check the
main website of JR Kyushu again.
Tip: You can use JR Kyushu to book
without additional fees.
