If you're visiting Fukuoka, Kumamoto Castle should be at the top of your list.

Kumamoto Castle🏯 is one of Japan's three greatest castles. It was built in 1607 by Kato Kiyomasa, a local feudal lord known for his castle design skills.

The castle🏯 is known for its unique curved stone walls and was severely damaged by the 2016 earthquake, but is currently undergoing restoration.

The castle grounds contain several original wooden buildings. A large garden is located on the right side of the castle.
