Kunming Panlong Temple - Panlong Patriarch's Relic

Located in Panlong Mountain in Jinning District, Kunming City, the capital of the ancient Dian Kingdom, it is one of the three major Buddhist holy sites in Yunnan, along with Xishan in Kunming and Jizushan in Dali. Panlong Temple is built on Panlong Mountain. Panlong Temple is a very effective temple with a thriving incense. All of this is due to the protection of the Panlong Patriarch.
The Panlong Patriarch, also known as Master Chongzhao, is the founder of Panlong Temple. He was born into the royal family but was devoted to Buddhism. He was deeply devoted to Buddhism, had profound spiritual practice, and was revered by people.
In 1364, the Panlong Patriarch passed away and his body remained intact, with his face looking alive. For nearly 500 years thereafter, he was worshipped by people, and the incense at Panlong Temple flourished. Unfortunately, in 1860, the Panlong Patriarch's body was destroyed by war.
The current Panlong Patriarch's Relic Hall has a relic pagoda, which houses the Patriarch's relics. People still firmly believe in the noble spirit of the Panlong Patriarch and continue to promote it at Panlong Temple.
