[China] Patchwork in the sky! Yunnan Province's "Dongchuan Red Land"

"Dongchuan Red Land" is located about 160km north of Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
The ethnic minorities of this area have spent many years clearing the mountains to build a colorful patchwork of red, yellow, and green vegetable fields in the sky.
The mountainous area has a maximum altitude of 2,600m, and they grow a variety of crops, including wheat and potatoes, which can grow in the red soil.
Until around 1990, this area was just a farming village that was almost unknown even within China, but a photo taken by a photographer won a contest, and it became known throughout the country.
The shooting season for Red Land is mainly from May to June and from September to December.
Personally, I recommend the autumn season to coincide with the autumn leaves.
Transportation to Dongchuan Red Land is not very convenient,
it takes 3 to 4 hours by car, and 5 to 6 hours by bus from Kunming Bus Terminal.
It is a really small village, with not many accommodations, and few convenience stores, shops, or restaurants.
There are no taxis or rental cars in the village (as of 2016), so it may be best to join a local tour from Kunming or elsewhere.
