Kurashiki Beauty has always been recognized as the most chill and slow-walking ancient street in Okayama Prefecture, this time I personally visited the "Achi Shrine" 📸
Achi Shrine itinerary highlights collection:
In addition to the beautiful view of Kurashiki city from the shrine high ground, the spring cherry blossoms are surrounded by mountains of pink when they are in full bloom, making it especially charming to take pictures. Walking the steps of the shrine is greeted by many Damo dolls along the way, the atmosphere is super healing. The architecture inside is delicate and full of Japanese ancient style, which is best for those who like humanity and quiet views.
Attraction recommendation: Achi Shrine Achi Shrine
First of all, Achi Shrine is located in the high ground of the Kurashiki aesthetic area, address is 12-1, Honmachi, Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture 710-0054, Japan, daily opening hours 09:00-17:00, almost year-round you can go up and walk.
Recommended practices:
From the aesthetic area slowly along the stone road up the shrine, along the way has been surrounded by many weeping cherry blossoms and green trees, basically no need to special navigation, follow the crowd. After going up, there is a sense of tranquility, whether cloudy or sunny - especially recommended to go on sunny days, the high location can see the entire old town of Kurashiki and surrounding mountain views, the photo output rate is super high!
Live atmosphere sharing:
Once you step into the shrine, the most eye-catching thing must be the colorful Damo dolls. It is said that many people have left one when they come to fulfill their wishes over the years. Therefore, the shrine is filled with all kinds of "lucky things". The building itself is a typical Japanese traditional style, the eaves and wooden beams are mottled with antiquity; facing the shrine main hall gives a sense of quiet, emptiness, very healing!
Spring cherry blossom tips:
If you visit in late March or early April (cherry blossom season), the shrine area becomes a cherry blossom tunnel, and even without major events, the beauty alone is worth the price of admission just from standing on a high platform. It is recommended to go in the morning or evening, the light is soft and less crowded, portraits or scenery are much more beautiful ~

After completing the shrine itinerary, it is recommended to go back to the aesthetic area, where you can eat traditional Wagashi in Kurashiki. There are many hipster cafes nearby, the most popular is the "くらしき Peach" cafe (1-3-18, central 1-3-18, Kurashiki City), which focuses on peach desserts and must-eat Okayama authentic fruits.
