Kiyomizu-dera Temple or Clear Water Temple 🍁⛩️

Kiyomizu-dera, or Clear Water Temple, is located on Mt. Otowa in eastern Kyoto. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Kyoto. It is now part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main building of Kiyomizu-dera has been designated as one of Japan's National Treasures.

🚌Getting there

🚃Train: No trains.
The nearest train station is Kiyomizu-Gojo Station.

You have to take a bus or walk about 1.8 kilometers.

🚎Bus: Get off at Kiyomizu-michi stop and walk about 900 meters into Matsubara Dori.

Visiting
Opening - Closing hours: Normal hours 6:00 - 18:00

The temple is open for night visits (in addition to the daytime) 18:00 - 21:30 (entrance to the temple no later than 21:00)
