It's been decades since my elementary school trip.

Official name: Rokuonji Temple

The second and third floors are covered in pure gold leaf, and a golden phoenix shines on the roof.

The garden and architecture centered around Kinkakuji are said to have been created with the image of paradise in mind.

It is one of Kyoto's most popular tourist attractions, visited by many people every year who want to see it in person.

There were a huge number of foreigners just before the parking lot...

I paid the admission fee and went inside...

I don't know if it's been like this for a long time, but the admission ticket was a charm. This is also popular among foreigners...

The area just inside the main gate seems to be a great place to take photos, and there were a lot of people taking photos.

The spot where you can see Kinkakuji up close was also very crowded. The sidewalk is narrow, so there was a huge traffic jam from there.

It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the "Cultural Assets of Ancient Kyoto".

I thought I would take a bus from here to the next place, but there were about 100 people at the bus stop, so I walked and got on from another place.
